Okay hi hello, I am GetRikt. I'm a person on the internet who misses the old web, where everyone had their own little website that was just... Their expression of themselves put out into the digital world. And I just came across NeoCities, which seems to be a wonderful attempt at allowing such a thing to exist again. So I'm here, trying to join that party.

Like many, I am growing very tired of the social media landscape. Facebook has become a dystopia. Twitter is a dumpster fire. Tumblr is a shadow of its former self. Reddit is self-immolating as we speak. In my opinion, it's time we went back to our roots, made some weird little websites, and enjoyed a web that isn't 4 or 5 sebsites all just copying and sharing the same content.

I'm not great at posting my own things. The years of easy reposts and retweets have left me less able to pontificate wildly in that old sort of blog style. But maybe this place can get me back to those old habits. And maybe I can make new connections here as well. We shall see!
